This booklet is especially appropriate for children who can read the prayers for themselves in the 6 to 10 year old age group. It is full of colour with the 16 illustrations drawn by Olivia Jackson-Mee when in her final year at secondary school in Auckland. The prayers are crafted by Rosemary and Peter Atkins with their usual eye to the needs of the children and with the issues they face.
The forty prayers in the book are divided into three sections:

• My prayers for today
• My prayers for others
• My prayers at special times.

The language of the prayers is simple and direct, and the topics centre on Home, Friends, School, Church, and special occasions. There is a prayer for those preparing for their First Communion.
This book will appeal as a gift to young children by parents and church organizations, and also to teachers in Primary Schools as a practical support for the RE curriculum. Its publication is endorsed by the Anglican and Catholic Bishops in Auckland, and youth staff in many churches.
